- We recommend calling when your tank reaches 25–30%. That gives us time to schedule your delivery without you running low. Will-call customers receive delivery within five business days of the request.
- Easy. Give us a call and we’ll walk you through it.
- Welcome to the area! Give us a call. If there’s already a Schilling tank on the property, we’ll get your account set up, and if the lines are still in good shape, a quick system check gets you up and running. If the tank belongs to another provider, we’ll walk you through your options. If you own the tank yourself, we can typically start service after a safety check.
- Call us right away. If your tank is completely empty, a licensed technician must perform a system check before it can be refilled. Someone from the household needs to be present for the check. Until we arrive, turn off the tank’s main service valve by turning it clockwise until snug.
- Yes, for routed customers, and there’s no fee. If you’re on our route and you run out, that’s on us. Will-call customers who run out can request emergency or after-hours delivery for a fee, or wait for the next regular delivery.
- Scheduled deliveries are efficiently routed in your area. Will-call customers receive delivery within five business days of the request.
Propane is treated with additives to give it a distinct odor — rotten eggs, skunk spray, or sulfur. If you smell it:
- Don’t hang up the phone (could cause a spark)
- Put out all smoking materials and open flames
- Don’t turn any electrical switches or appliances on or off
- Get everyone out of the building immediately and leave the doors open
- Don’t re-enter until our technician or emergency responder has deemed it safe
- Turn off the gas supply at the tank if you can do so safely
- Yes, when handled properly. Propane is one of the most regulated and tested fuels in the country. Our drivers and technicians are trained and certified to keep your system running safely.
- Just make sure our truck has clear access to the tank — driveway open, gates unlocked, dogs secured, snow cleared, and tree limbs trimmed back. Have special instructions? Let our office know beforehand.
- Yes. We have many commercial and agricultural accounts: grain drying, livestock heating, forklift cylinders, and more. Call us to discuss your operation’s needs.
